We do this by living our Love Promise, through our annual Share the Love® event, by partnering with organizations that are building up our communities, by holding ourselves to the absolute highest quality and safety standards as a car manufacturer, and by reflecting on our practices often to identify ways we can grow and improve the lives and world around us. From our retailers volunteering in their communities across the country to our nonprofit partnerships here at home in Camden, New Jersey, we’re committed to the Subaru Love Promise.

Volunteerism
It is our aim to spread the Love Promise as much as possible, and we encourage our employees to assist in achieving this goal by giving back to our communities. Over the past two decades, employees have logged nearly 100,000 hours in the communities where they live and work.

The Subaru of America Foundation was established in 1984 with the goal of supporting the communities in which we live and work. Today, we are proud to say that our foundation continues pursuing this goal and has awarded over $26 million through community grants, scholarships, and matching employee gifts to various programs.

The Subaru Share the Love® Event
When we share love, we all win. Over the last 18 years, through the Subaru Share the Love® Event, Subaru and our participating retailers have donated nearly $345 million to charities like the ASPCA®, Make-A-Wish®, Meals on Wheels, the National Park Foundation, and nearly 2,800 hometown charities, including those in our own neighborhood of Camden, New Jersey.

Empower Camden
Subaru is deeply committed to the empowerment of its headquarters’ home – Camden, New Jersey – having actively invested in the Camden area for over 30 years. When Subaru officially committed to moving its headquarters in 2016, we wanted to enhance our relationship with the Camden community through increased support of areas such as education, job readiness training, and the environment. Today, we continue to work with our partners to stay actively involved in the city’s revitalization and to empower Camden.

Points of Light recognizes Subaru as one of The Civic 50 of 2023
As one of "the most community-minded companies in the United States," Subaru was named a 2023 Civic 50 Honoree by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. Subaru was selected based on four dimensions of citizenship and social impact – investment of resources, integration across business functions, institutionalization through policies and systems, and impact measurement.

Eco-Friendly Retailer Program
We launched the Subaru Eco-Friendly program 14 years ago and have certified one-third of our retailers in that time. The Eco-Friendly Certification recognizes Subaru retailers for achieving requirements across energy efficiency, water conservation, recycling, waste management, and efforts in environmental community involvement. Some efforts of these retailers include the use of light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs and solar panels, rainwater harvest, and water recycling.
In 2024, our retailers continued collecting used cabin air filters and plastic film from service areas for recycling to help Subaru further align with its strategic low-carbon goals. Eco-Friendly Subaru retailers are also giving back to their communities through tree planting, river cleanups, trail building, trail cleanups, and sponsorship of green education programs.

Subaru Corporation Global CSR Report
This report introduces the outcome of efforts on corporate social responsibilities (CSR) by Subaru Corporation in Japan and its domestic and overseas affiliates to promote communication with stakeholders, including customers, shareholders, business partners, local communities, and employees, aiming to further strengthen the company’s commitments.
