Subaru is incredibly passionate about our investment in the community. Our involvement with Camden is over 30 years strong, fueled through our community partnerships. We have taken a very intentional approach to our involvement in Camden by working with community organizations to understand the unique challenges and opportunities our neighbors face. This strategy helps empower our neighbors and make a meaningful impact in the city.

Upstream Alliance
Upstream Alliance works in the natural environment to help solve problems at their source. Its mission is to provide powerful, on-the-water experiences for current and future conservation leaders who can improve public access, clean water and coastal resilience, while in partnership with organizations who champion these issues. Subaru is proud to support the environmental efforts in Camden that are designed to offer immersive learning experiences along the Delaware River by engaging Camden students in activities like water quality testing, wildlife observation and shoreline exploration. Rooted in community engagement, and innovative design, the Camden Education Program aims to cultivate environmentally conscious individuals while expanding opportunities for maritime activities and scientific exploration for Camden youth.

Cathedral Kitchen
Cathedral Kitchen’s mission is to help people out of food insecurity and champion their pursuit of stability and prosperity. The organization provides meals, social services and culinary training and job placement to the Camden community. Each day, Cathedral Kitchen serves free meals to an average of 480 individuals. Its Culinary Arts Training program, supported by Subaru, equips students for employment through classroom instruction, hands-on kitchen experience, and ServSafe certification. The 15-week program includes academic coursework, on-site kitchen training, and job readiness support designed to enhance students’ marketability. Individualized case management strengthens student stability, supports course completion, and helps graduates transition directly into a career path. Since its inception, the program has opened pathways to employment for hundreds of Camden residents.

Hopeworks
Hopeworks is a leader in AI upskilling, empowering young adults—especially those historically excluded from the digital economy—with the tools to thrive in today’s evolving workforce. Through a unique, trauma-informed model, participants gain technical and soft skill training, career coaching, and hands-on work experience in web development, GIS, and Revenue Cycle Management. More than job training, Hopeworks equips future leaders to succeed and adapt in the age of artificial intelligence. Subaru is proud to partner with Hopeworks, creating opportunity and driving positive change. Together, we’re opening doors for young adults to access meaningful careers and become leaders in the AI-driven economy.

Joseph's House
Joseph’s House is dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness by providing a continuum of care that includes emergency shelter, access to supportive housing, and comprehensive social services. Joseph’s House works collaboratively with community partners to address the root causes of homelessness. With support from Subaru, the organization has expanded its services, enabling it to serve thousands of guests annually and offer programs that help empower individuals on their path to stability.
The Subaru Share the Love Garden
The Subaru Share the Love Garden began in 2009 with the help of a local nonprofit, the Center for Environmental Transformation. It started with a small garden on the grounds of our headquarters and has grown to include eight raised beds producing, on average, 600 pounds of produce annually. Today the garden is planted, maintained, and harvested by Subaru employees which features a variety of vegetables and herbs, including radishes, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, and more. The produce is donated to Cathedral Kitchen, helping to nourish the Camden community.
